Customise the display

The settings can be opened in two places, which change the same values:

on the site: floating button › Configuration. A window opens without leaving the song. Save applies the changes (the page reloads), Reset restores the default values. The cross, a click outside the window or the Esc key close it without changing anything;
in the options page of the extension, which opens in a tab, from your browser’s extension management page (“Extension options” in Chrome, “Preferences” in Firefox). Its settings are in the “Configuration” group of the side menu. Here, every change is saved straight away; the Reset to default settings button, at the bottom of each panel, only resets the settings of that panel.

General

Appearance › Theme: System (follows your browser or system preferences, the default), Light or Dark. It applies to the floating button, its windows and the options page;
Floating menu: the instruments offered in the “Chords” submenu — Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Bass, all ticked by default. If all are unticked, the “Chords” entry disappears from the menu.

Songs and chords

Chords

Hide secondary chords (e.g. E/G# → E): keeps only the main chord when a bass note is added. Unticked by default;
Simplify chords (e.g. G7 → G): removes numbers and “sus”, to play the basic chord. Unticked by default;
Chords colour: red, orange, green (the default), turquoise, blue, violet or black.

Song structure

Optimize space: hide duplicated parts (jemaf.fr): when a part comes back identically (for example “Chorus a” then “Chorus b”, or the same chorus later on), only the first one is shown in full; the following ones keep their title but no longer show their lyrics or chords. A part whose lyrics differ is never hidden. Ticked by default;
Structure items colour (verse, chorus…): the same seven colours, blue by default.

What is synced

The song and chord settings and the choice of instruments are saved in the extension’s synced storage: if you have turned on your browser’s sync, it brings them to your other devices. The theme and the floating button’s position stay specific to each device.
